Every September, Food Truck Festivals of America fills Salem Common with food trucks, a craft beer and cider tent, and rows of local artisans — the weekend Salem’s Halloween season unofficially begins. 7 years running as of 2026.

The seventh year on the Common, and the unofficial opening of Salem’s Halloween season. Around a dozen food trucks, a beer and cider tent, and a long row of artisan sellers — so many vendors the hard part was deciding.
We ate Thanksgiving dinner in a bowl from the Perky Turkey and a Gram’s blueberry doughnut from Rocco’s Doughnut Company. Egg Roll Evolution was selling flights of four. Travelin’ Bones had the slow-smoked barbecue, Cookie Monstah the cookies.

Going this year
The Common is a ten-minute walk from the train and there is no festival parking, so the garages on Congress Street and New Liberty Street fill early — see the Salem parking guide. Bring cash as a backup; most trucks take cards, some artisans do not. Dogs are everywhere on the Common that weekend.
