Witch City Today ("we," "us") operates witchcitytoday.com, a free local guide to Salem, Massachusetts. We keep this simple: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell your data, and we only use information to run and improve the site.

Information we collect

Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, approximate location (city/region), device and browser type, and how you arrived. This data is aggregated and is not used to personally identify you.

Information you give us. If you submit an event or business, join our list, or email us, we receive what you send — typically a name, email address, and the details of your submission.

Server logs. Our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) automatically records standard technical data such as IP address and request time for security and reliability.

We do not collect payment information, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and basic site functionality. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as well without them.

How we use information

To operate and improve the site, respond to your submissions and messages, keep listings and the events calendar current, and protect against abuse. We use aggregate analytics to decide what content to create and improve.
