  The Enchanted Salem Social

  Looking for a different way to experience Salem? Step inside the historic Hawthorne Hotel for an afternoon of creativity, conversation, games, and a little Salem magic. The Enchanted Salem Social Experience is a three-hour hosted social event for adults 21+ designed especially for people who want to do more than simply see Salem, they want to be part of the experience. Start by creating and personalizing your own miniature enchanted broom, a unique Salem keepsake to take home with you. Then spend the afternoon meeting fellow visitors and locals through hosted activities, secret social missions, tabletop games, and plenty of opportunities to mingle, laugh, and make new connections. Coming to Salem on your own? You're especially welcome. The experience is designed to make it easy to walk in without knowing anyone and have something to do and people to meet. Friends and couples are welcome, too. Guests can enjoy complimentary light appetizers, with a cash bar available throughout the event.   Hellfire Cabaret: A Speakeasy For Saints and Sinners

  A speakeasy night for saints and sinners at the Hawthorne Hotel: costume contest, dancing and drinks, psychic readers, and drag and burlesque performances, with DJs Arcanus and Motia spinning. Featuring Samuel Bendix, Belle Gunz, Hella Hayes, Johnny Caligula and Sarah Jezebel. The Witches' Market is free and open to the public from 6:30 to 10 PM. VIP tickets add private market shopping from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, a 15-minute tarot reading and a $75 swag bag with goods from Spiritus Arcanum, The Cauldron Black and Lovi Artes; Deluxe VIP swaps the tarot for a 15-minute session with The Light Witch. 21+.   Hawthorne Hotel Halloween Ball: Phobia

  The event, introduced in 1990 and hosted by the Hawthorne, features a live band and two djs, interactive experiences, a costume contest, stationed hors d'oeuvres and cash bars on three floors. Dance, people-watch, take selfies in front of our backdrops and enjoy being part of the premier bucket-list Halloween event. Our theme this year, Phobia, will transform classic phobias into a world of shadow, illusion and psychological suspense. This isn't just about spiders! Think nystophobia (fear of darkness), thanatophobia (fear of death), or chronophobia (fear of time passing.)

  The Mourning Tea: Remembering the Dead

  Salem Witch Angelique Renard hosts a three-course High Tea in grand Victorian tradition at the Hawthorne Hotel. Wear your finest mourning attire, share stories of loved ones who have passed, add photos and mementos to the Salem Witches’ Book of the Dead, and receive messages in the tea leaves, with live music and poetry throughout.

  Halloween night ball presented by Festival of the Dead, hosted by Christian Day, Brian Cain, and the Witches of Salem with guests the Dragon Ritual Drummers. Dancing in the Grand Ballroom to pop, party, and goth; complimentary psychic readings; ceremonial dance and ritual circles led by established practitioners. Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Costume competition with $1,250 in prizes. 21+ — valid ID required.
