Salem Common is a 9+ acre historic park established 1803 in the Salem Common Historic District. Site of the First Muster of the East Regiment in 1637 — the origin of the National Guard. Features recreational paths, a 1926 Colonial Revival bandstand, Washington Arch, and regular community events.

Salem Heritage Days Parade: Salem Through The Centuries
The parade features floats depicting different historical periods of Salem, including Indigenous Heritage, Colonial Era (1600s), Revolutionary War (1700s), 19th Century Maritime & Literary Salem (1800s), 20th Century Innovation, Modern Salem (2000s), and Salem's Future. Timeless themes like Immigrant Communities, Architecture, and Arts and Culture will also be showcased. Organized by Keeley Productions.
